IFRS Foundation debrief on 2024 World Standard-setters Conference in London
In September, the IFRS Foundation hosted its 24th World Standard-setters (WSS) Conference, attended by over 130 delegates from 70 jurisdictions both in London and online. The conference featured discussions from experts in accounting and sustainability reporting.
During the final plenary session, the Foundation's connectivity team emphasised the importance of connectivity of IFRS Accounting Standards with IFRS Sustainability Disclosure Standards. They highlighted that the connectivity between financial and sustainability-related information enhances the quality of financial information to capital markets.
The conference also included six breakout sessions, which included the sessions on the adoption or other use of ISSB Standards, as well as the implementation of IFRS S1 General Requirements for Disclosure of Sustainability-related Financial Information and IFRS S2 Climate-related Disclosures.
Recordings of these sessions are available here.
